TCL SVC 200 teardown

After some discussions on Techmoan's site  I was wondering what's inside that little cam and it seems there is more to that.
Here are some pics, note you have to desolder the remote control antenna to remove the pcb board.

Below is the wire (antenna) for the remote you have to desolder.

It seems there are some tools for ambarella video processing chips here http://dc.p-mc.eu/
There is a firmware editor here http://dc.p-mc.eu/tools/a7tool   (you have to open the A5 binary and select your SVC200 firmware file.
You can extract partitions, kernel etc.
He has also a direct usb download software which allows firmware update gia usb cable. You can get it here http://dc.p-mc.eu/tools/directusb/download

Feel free to donate to this site, he has done a great work.

Hi there, although it's been a while since you checked the internals of this camera, would you happen to remember what type of lens is used?
I would presume it is a standard M12 board lens. I would like to replace mine with one with a narrower field of view.
Thank you

Hello! I haven't checked it. i would like to change the lens too, but where to find lenses? If you want i could re open it and take more pics and try to find what kind of a lens it is.

If it is the standard M12 lens you can find them pretty much everywhere.
Just google M12 lens, board lens etc. There are quite a few on ebay. Of course, depending on the cost you will get better quality.
Here is a website I found with good quality lenses http://www.stockoptics.com/board-lenses/ir-cut-board-lenses.html .
If you open it again please try to take some more pics or a video of the procedure.
Thank you again

Hi, I have Svc200, need some help.

Instructions on how to get it to record continuous video?
And can i use a higher Micro Sd like 64gb or higher?

Thanks

Mode = sport mode (not car) in the settings menu, you'll see n icon of a running man, look up teachmoan on YouTube for his review and instructions

I have a 32gb and a 64gb, I've got a bug at the moment that it will record a few mins of video then crash; buffering symbol until the battery dies

I've got the same issue, buffering symbol then battery dies, I was hoping a firmware update would fix it but can't find the firmware anywhere

Here is 0.8.7 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxL-fHC-i2cBYU0zcGcyNGdlSHM/view?usp=sharing

And here is 1.0.2 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxL-fHC-i2cBOFZuMk81dE9mNE0/view?usp=sharing

Please, if you brick it there is nothing i can do so do it at your own risk. Try 0.8.7 first. I bricked mine with 1.0.2.

how to update firmware download here is 1.0.2 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxL-fHC-i2cBOFZuMk81dE9mNE0/view?usp=sharing
than unpack with winrar copy the bin file to a formatted micro sd card then put into your TCL 200 it will come update firmware just tick the box the the magic will then happen some chinese text will come up ..no worries just tick .. the tick boxes it worked for me still recording after 35 mins fixed ..no crashes
