Yaesu VX-8 LED mod

Many people ask me about the size of the led's i've used.
The display needs 3 LED's 1206 size mounted on an angle.
The keyboard needs 10 pieces of 0603 LED's size.
I am going to make a video on removing and re soldering a led with a simple soldering iron for those of you asking me by mail.
Would be great if you could spend some time and click on some ads, since i'm out of cash it would help a lot for my researches on the yaesu and other stuff. So far i've have had a few clicks tho lol.
In the mean time check the video of the VX-8 showing the color of the display and keyboard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYBhpiIrMC8

Interesting Technical manual on the VX-8xx series radio

I found an interesting file. It's a technical supplement on the Yaesu VX-8xx series.
It contains the alignment of the unit, i have tried and it works. Be carefull tho, if you mess with the settings your radio might be funked out. You can even destroy it cause this things can even change the power output of your radio. This might burn the final output stage of the radio.
I have warned you.

The next step

The next step on my small project will be a firmware dump of my VX-8. My version is the bluetooth corrected software. I've seen that the first versions of this handheld had problems on pairing and yaesu released a new firmware update on this. The seller i got it from claimed this had a new bugfree version.
A firmware dump might give us something to play with.
Seems to be a pain in the ass.
